Mercedes-Benz continues its affiliation with Jurassic Park movie franchise
Mercedes-Benz has built a strong affiliation with the Jurassic Park movie franchise which dates back to 1997 with the Mercedes-Benz M-Class debuting in the “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” movie. Three versions of the M-Class were used in the movie, of which two copies of each were built. A M-Class Convertible, a M-Class Observatory while the 3rd M-Class was used as mobile laboratory in the movie. Two of the M-Class are displayed at the Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, while one at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany, and one at the Visitor Centre at the M-Class factory in Alabama.
The affliction continues even today with Mercedes-Benz automobiles featuring in the latest movie of the franchise the “Jurassic World”. The Jurassic World is set twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park at the Isla Nublar Island located off Central America’s Pacific Coast near Costa Rica. The story revolves around the Islands newest attraction, the Indominus Rex created by the park’s geneticists using the DNA of Giganotosaurus, Rugops, Majungasaurus, and Carnotaurus who has escaped and creating deadly rampage. It becomes the responsibility of Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), a member of the park’s on-site staff and Jurassic World’s security team to contain the hybrid dinosaur before she can cause more damage.
The movie features the all-New Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, for the first time, which is driven by the female lead character Bryce Dallas Howard, while the male lead character Chris Pratt is seen maneuvering the Mercedes-Benz G-Class in the hunt for the Indominus Rex . The G 63 AMG 6X6 and many Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Vans are used by the Park Rangers while a Mercedes-Benz Unimog is also featured in the movie as a Dinosaur ambulance.
